Passionate!

Me teaching Passionate!

In 2016, I invited students to my first playshop at the Joy of Movement studio. The playshop was inspired by a routine I created called Passionate

In Passionate!, I combined the moves of the Nia routine Passion with Adele’s incredible music. Her voice and lyrics evoke so much passion it was an easy connection to make.

The playshop included sharing our passions before we danced, then moving our passion into action by focusing on activating the body’s core during the dance. Thinking of the pelvis, chest, and head as a “ready, set, go”—lighting up the chakras from tailbone to crown.

When I move in Nia, especially with a focus and intent in class, I receive the intended result. But, lately, I realized I have a passion hiding—a passion that needs to be brought into the light.

Doing this routine again will light a fire under my butt and get me to take action.

Do you have anything you are passionate about that you would like to move toward and make happen?

Dance your passion with me!
