New Nia Ways to Dance Through Life!

Introducing Nia Life on Facebook for students and teachers, a free ‘Nia Day’ Guide, and NiaOnDemand!

Although I’m not on FB as much these days, what I have seen in the Nia Life Facebook group is very engaging. I am thrilled to have a platform where students can share insights, questions, and connect to us teachers and other Nia students more easily. If we are friends on FB, I will invite you to the new Nia Life group. If you don’t get an invite in a week, reach out to me!

Here is a link to the ‘Nia Day’ Guide. I just signed up and got this cool PDF with great ways to feel better not just in class but all day long while I dance through life.

NiaTV is now NiaOnDemand. It is an incredible resource for all things Nia! They have rearranged the organization, so it is much easier to find and see all Nia offers. Beyond the classic Nia experience, there is Quick Nia (20-30 minutes), Nia Dance Breaks (5 minutes), Nia Moving to Heal (a gentler, more simplified experience that is sometimes done in a chair), Nia 52 Moves, Nia MoveIT (interval training), Nia Floorplay, Nia FREEdance, and finally Nia Lifestyle (includes interviews, podcasts, meditations, and 5 Stages videos).

When I didn’t have time to do a full Nia class the other day, I searched the library for a 20-minute workout—or “workin” as some Nia teachers like to call it. I found one with my Black Belt Nia trainer and teacher extraordinaire, Ann Christiansen, that piqued my interest. It is called Beyond Nia Experience with Ann Christiansen in the Quick Nia section. I chose it since I haven’t learned the routine Beyond yet and wanted more familiarity with the music. I couldn’t believe I sweat more than in a regular 50+ minute class.

I am definitely looking forward to exploring more of the classes and meditations on NiaOnDemand!
